Fabby the FabLab Robot

We were invited by FabLab Limerick to create something fun and interactive for Culture Night. FabLabs are built on the tenets of knowledge sharing, skill learning and collaboration and we wanted to create an interactive installation that showcased these principals. Participants had to use the custom built pulley system to manoeuvre the giant screwdriver into the robot. The in-built timer brought out people’s competitive side!

The Listening Tree

An audio-haptic installation for one or two at a time to stand or sit next to a tree, put their ear to the bark and to listen. It allows people a chance to have some intimate time with a tree. It is gentle and accessible for any age and plays on a loop. The technology is self-contained and adaptable to any tree. The music and audio take inspiration from Mary Olivers’s poem "When I am among the trees" as well as the teachings of Peter Wohlleben about how trees communicate. The Listening Tree was commissioned by Future Limerick Festival, spring 2022.

Eight Years

Eight Years is a live music performance created by 8 ice lanterns. As the ice melts it triggers music and sounds to enter the space. This compassion-centred listening piece is experienced in the round and lasts for 8 minutes. It is a response to the 2019 IPCC report which stated there are eight years in which to limit the most devastating aspects of the climate crisis.

Eight Years premiered at the Acoustic Ecology Festival at the Attenborough Centre for Creative Arts, Brighton in 2020.

Speech Bubbles

We were commissioned by Milton Keynes Islamic Arts and Culture to create an installation to celebrate the diversity of languages spoken in the area. Speech Bubbles is a light and sound spectacle for public spaces for day or night. It was meant to be part of the 2020 Art in the Park festival. However, due to Covid 19 pandemic this project was cancelled. Here you can see some of our development.
